[continued] Hugh of Saint-Victor’s ‘Chronicle’ (De tribus maximis circumstantis gestorum): Kingdoms of the world

Edited by Lars Boje Mortensen, ‘Hugh of St Victor on secular history. A preliminary edition of chapters from his Chronica’, Cahiers de l’Institut du Moyen-Âge Grec et Latin, 62 (1992) 3–30, 8–18. The extent of the lists corresponds with p.9 of Mortensen’s primary MS (Mortensen, ‘Hugh of St Victor’, 9–11).

In the first column, in the sentence before the title Medorum (in red), a later scribe has supplied a missing majuscule R (in [R]egnum) and, in the next line, added anno (superscript, with a carat underneath) between ab and vii. (Mortensen, ‘Hugh of St Victor’, 10, column 1, reads ab anno vii.) Perhaps the same scribe added R (in Remenses), the first name in the third column.
